Graduated in Biological Sciences at the University of Rome “La Sapienza” in 1994, she obtained the PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biology and Pathology at the University of Perugia in 2000. Admitted to practice as a biologist since 1995, she is enrolled in the National Register of Biologist (ONB).

As a PhD student she carried out research activity at the Istituto di Ricerca di Biologia Molecolare-IRBM (Sigma Tau-Merck Research Laboratories – Italy Joint Venture), in Pomezia (Rome). From 1999 to 2002 she worked as Marie Curie Research Fellow at the Department of Cell Biology and Biophysics of the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) in Heidelberg (D). Subsequently she carried out research activities at the University of Rome “Tor Vergata” and the University of Chieti and Pescara “G. D’Annunzio”.

Since 2006 she works as researcher at the Proteomics and Metabolomics laboratory of the IRCCS Fondazione S. Lucia, in Rome.

She collaborates with national and international research groups, and she is author of numerous scientific publications in international peer-reviewed journals (https://orcid.org/0000-0001-7141-1817)

Her current research activity is mainly aimed at characterizing the proteome of preclinical experimental models and clinical samples of neurological diseases, with the aim of understanding the molecular mechanisms underneath the physiological or pathophysiological mechanisms and identifying potential new diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers.
