SECOND LEVEL MASTER PROGRAM (Continuing Professional Development)

This program lasts for two academic years, during which students will acquire both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. The purpose of the Second Level Master Program (CPD course) is to provide clinicians with necessary means for a correct diagnostic and operative approach to orthodontic cases. Students will be drawn into modern orthodontics from the diagnosis to the post orthodontic procedures and will have the chance to get in contact with the most modern techniques and technologies.

The official language of the Second Level Master Program (CPD course)will be English.

The main partners are: Istituto Stomatologico Toscano and Istituto Giuseppe Cozzani

Location:

  • Lectures will be held at the ISTITUTO GIUSEPPE COZZANI.
  • The practical Hands on and the internship will be held at: the ISTITUTO GIUSEPPE COZZANI.

Language: English 

Final Certification and Formative Credits:
All candidates who have completed the planned training and passed the final exam will receive a second level Master in Orthodontics with the assignment of 120 credits (CFU)

Duration:
The Second Level Master Program (CPD course) lasts 24 months and includes a total time of 3.000 hours, divided into:

  • practical activity and lectures and seminars;
  • internship (750 hours);
  • study and individual preparation activities including the preparation of the final exam.

Attendance mode:
The attendance is mandatory for at least the 75% of the total hours of the course.

For frontal lectures and seminars (unless otherwise communication) a commitment of 6 sessions of approximately 8 days is foreseen for the entire duration of the course. The total hours of training will be scheduled in accordance with the host structure. 

Places available:
A minimum number of 10 students is required to activate the course. Below the threshold of 10 UniCamillus can unilaterally decide not to activate the course (with the return of any participation fees already paid)

The maximum number of students is 30

TEACHING METHODOLOGY AND EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM

The Second Level Master Program (CPD course) has a theoretical-practical approach aimed at providing learning on the correct diagnosis, treatment plan and on the various orthodontic treatment techniques of growing patients (both in the prepubertal and adolescent phase), adults also with periodontal problems. The courses carried out within the Istituto Giuseppe Cozzani aim to provide basic theoretical and methodological knowledge and consist of lectures and practical laboratory activities

Mauro Cozzani earned his degree in Dentistry summa cum laude at the Università degli Studi di Milano, and gained his specialization in orthodontics at Boston University, earning his Master of Science in Dentistry. At the Université de Borgogne in Dijon, France, he earned the Diplome Universitaire d’Orthodontie, at the Università degli Studi di Parma attended the “Corso di Perfezionamento in Ortodonzia Intercettiva” and at the Università degli Studi di Ferrara gained his European specialization in orthodontics.
He is member of several Orthodontic Associations, both Italian and foreign, among which: Società Italiana di Ortodonzia (SIDO, Cultural Advisor, 2000-01, President elected 2022), Associazione Italiana Specialisti Ortodonzia (ASIO, President 2005), EOS, AAO, and WFO. In addition, he is diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics (ABO), member of the European Board of Orthodontists (Examiner 2006-08, Chairman of the Examiners 2009-11 and President 2013-15) and of the Italian Board of Orthodontics (President 2006-07), active member of the Angle Society of Europe and of the Edward H Angle Society of Orthodontists (East component). He was founder and President (2007-08) of the Accademia Italiana di Ortodonzia.
Since 1985, more than 300 speeches, communications and courses in Europe, Africa, Asia, North (invited speaker at different AAO and Constituent Societies meetings) and South America, and more than 100 publications in scientific journals with and without editorial board (95 listed in Pubmed), coauthor of the book “Ortodonzia fissa in dentatura decidua e mista” 1992 and author of a chapter in 6 books from 1994 to 2016. He reviewed papers for Ortognatodonzia Italiana, Progress in Orthodontics, Korean Journal of Orthodontics, Orthodontic and Craniofacial research, Journal of Clinical Orthodontics, Angle Orthodontist, European Journal of Orthodontics, American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics; he served as “Associate Editor” for Progress in Orthodontics and he is now “Contributing Editor” of the Journal of Clinical Orthodontics.
Dr. Cozzani has been a “Professore a contratto” for the “Corso di Perfezionamento in Ortodonzia Pre e Post chirurgica” of Università di Parma during the academic years 1994-1995 / 1995 – 1996, at the “Scuola di Specializzazione in Ortodonzia” of Università di Ferrara (1999-2009) and at the “Scuola di Specializzazione in Ortodonzia” of Università di Cagliari 2010-2013 then he was appointed Professor of Orthodontics and Gnathology at the Università di Cagliari (2013-2016); from 2017 to 2018 was Professor of Orthodontics and Director Master in Clinical Dentistry (Orthodontics) United Campus of Malta (Malta), from 2017 to 2019 Visiting Professor Department of Orthodontics Alexandria University, Alexandria (Egypt) and since 2015 he is Adjunct Professor Center for Orthodontics Seton Hill University, Greensburg, PA.

 

ADMISSION AND SELECTION CRITERIA

One of the following degree titles are requested to be admitted to the course(or nearing completion by the deadline for enrollment in the Master)

  • Master degree and / or specialist degree in dentistry and dental prosthesis;
  • Master degree and/ or specialist degree in medicine and surgery with specialization in odontostomatology or qualification for the practice of dentistry;
  • Master’s degree in Medicine and Surgery.

Other candidates who can also apply:

  • Candidates in possession of an Academic Degree equivalent to those listed above obtained in a foreign University.
  • Candidates in possession of an Academic Degree obtained abroad and equivalent in duration and content to those listed above. The University reserves the right to admit candidates with different qualifications but relevant to the course.

PROCEDURES AND TERMS FOR APPLICATION

The application must be submitted via the gomp student portal following instructions given in the GUIDE, by the date of 11/01/2023

In order to complete your application, you will need to provide the following documents, which will be attached to the portal during the procedure:

  • curriculum vitae et studiorum in European format, dated and signed, in PDF format;
  • PDF format of a valid identity document;
  • PDF format of the degree certificate;
  • JPG or PNG format of a personal photo;
  • any additional qualifications you wish to submit for assessment for admission;
  • declaration that you have read the information regarding the processing of personal data pursuant to articles 13 and 14 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 on the “protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data” (hereinafter also “GDPR”) provided by UniCamillus.
  • photocopy of the tax code or health card (for Italian citizens and foreigners in possession of one);
  • for candidates in possession of qualifications equivalent/equivalent to those required: declaration in lieu of certification, pursuant to art. 46 point m of D.P.R. 28/12/2000, no. 445, certifying the achievement of the qualifications in question, in accordance with current legislation.
  • Payment of first installment

For candidates with qualifications equivalent/equivalent to those required:

  • Declaration of Value on Site issued by the Italian Consular Authority of the country of study (accompanied by transcript of records + copy of the final diploma) or a(n) CIMEA Certificate of Comparability/ARDI Statement of Correspondence accompanied by a CIMEA Statement of Verification (see the CIMEA platform) or Diploma Supplement (if it is a European qualification) issued by the University of origin and legalised at the Italian Embassy of the country of study. Students who submit incomplete documentation will be admitted with reservation and cannot complete their enrolment until all the required documentation has been submitted.

Conditional enrolment will not be accepted due to incomplete documentation or incorrect entry of data on the application form.

Following admission, candidates will have to follow the enrolment procedure following the indications provided in the appropriate guide, which will be sent by email together with the notification of admission to the Master’s course.

The participation fee is 13.000 euros per academic year, grand total of 26.000 euros to be paid in 5 intervals:

1) €5.200 + €50 duty stamps by 11/01/2023 (Together with the submission of the application for admission)  

2) €5.200 by 11/05/2023

3) €5.200 by 11/09/2023

4) €5.200 by 11/01/2024

5) €5.200 by 11/04/2024

If the candidate does not make the payment within the time specified by UniCamillus he will lose the right to enroll / participate
