Biography

Born in Padua, she graduated with honors in Medicine (2009) from the University of Padua and specialized with honors in General Surgery (2016) in the same University. Winner of International Fellowships, she attended the Pancreatic Surgery of Heidelberg (Germany, 2014), the Endocrine Surgery of Lund (Sweden, 2017), and the Pancreatic Surgery of Umeå (Sweden, 2022).
Currently Surgeon and Research Fellow at the University Hospital of Padua and Lecturer at the Postgraduate School in Digestive Diseases at the University of Padua. At the same University, she was a Researcher (2020-2023) and Lecturer at the Courses of Medicine and of Nursing, as well as at the Doctoral Course of Clinical and Experimental Sciences and the Postgraduate School in General Surgery.
Her research activity is mainly focused on the disease and surgery of the pancreas and on the disease and surgery of neuroendocrine tumors. She has developed expertise in pancreatic and endocrine surgery and digestive neoplasms, and she has performed more than 2,000 surgical procedures. She has collected a case history of more than 500 gastro-entero-pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors, and she follows the dedicated outpatient clinic.
She has participated with scientific reports in 90 national and international scientific congresses. Author of 240 scientific publications in international journals. Since 2023 she has been a Council Member of the European Pancreatic Club (EPC) and from 2017 to 2020 she was a Councilor of the Italian Pancreatic Association (AISP). Member of an International Consortium for Pancreatic Cancer Genetic Research. Member of the European EURACAN Network for patients with neuroendocrine neoplasms. Acquired in June 2022 the national scientific qualification for Associate Professor (area 06/C1, General Surgery).
