He graduated in Medicine and Surgery and specialized in Forensic Medicine at the University of Padua. He postgraduated in Bioethics. He taught at the University of Padua for several years and is currently an Associate Professor of Forensic Medicine at Unicamillus.
His research and publication activity focuses in particular on aspects of medical professional liability and of healthcare professionals, informed consent and risk prevention activities in the healthcare sector, with particular reference to transfusion activities.
He is a medico-legal consultant for the National Blood Center at the Italian National Institute of Health.
He is a member of several Italian medico-legal scientific societies and of the board of directors of GISDI (Interdisciplinary Study Group on Iatrogenic Damage) and COMLAS (Scientific Society of Legal Physicians of the Healthcare Companies of the National Health Service).
