Professor PierFranco Conte is Full Professor at the University of Padua and the Scientific Director of the IRCCS San Camillo since March 2022.
After his degree in Medicine and Surgery, he specialized in Oncology at the University of Turin. He later became a Full Professor of Medical Oncology at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, and subsequently at the University of Padua.
He served as Director of the Medical Oncology Department at the Veneto Cancer Institute (IOV), an institution for which he also recently held the position of Interim Scientific Director, and he remains the coordinator of the Veneto Oncology Network, a role he has held for over eight years.
Author of more than 500 publications in high-profile international journals, he has received several scientific awards, including the Claude Jacquillat Award for Achievement in Clinical Oncology (2007), the “Stelle della Fenice nel Mondo” decoration for scientific excellence (2014), and the Award of the Italian Association for Medical Oncology for Promotion of Clinical Research in Italy (2018). He is also a member of scientific societies such as AIOM, ESMO, and ASCO, and serves as President of the Periplo Foundation.
Pier Franco Conte has an extensive portfolio of scientific publications in the field of oncology. He is also the Head of Line 4 – Neuro-Oncological Rehabilitation, which aims to develop new knowledge and establish new protocols for the prevention, early diagnosis, and rehabilitative treatment of oncology patients experiencing neurological disorders, both central and peripheral, related to cancer or cancer treatments.
