After graduation in Medical Biotechnology at the University of Florence, he obtained the PhD in Biomolecular and Biotechnological Sciences at the University of Sassari. During his postdoctoral training in Italian and international institutions such as the University of Rome “Tor Vergata”, the University of Cambridge, and the Catholic University of Sacred Heart – IRCCS Fondazione Policlinico Universitario Agostino Gemelli, he gained experience in cancer biology, post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression, and RNA biology.
He is holding a position as a Researcher BIO/17 (Histology) at the Saint Camillus International University of Health and Medical Sciences.
His current research aims at investigating the dysregulation of splicing in highly aggressive Group 3 medulloblastoma, and at identifying novel circulating RNA-based biomarkers in Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) patients to predict their therapeutic response.
