Biography

He obtained a Degree in Medicine and Surgery and a Board certification in the specialty Dermatology and Venereology from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Rome.

In 2011, he completed a Ph.D in “Oncological Dermatology” in the framework of the  Oncological Sciences program, at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart. In 2012, he acquired a Second Level Master’s degree in “Sciences of Cutaneous Appendages” from the La Sapienza University of Rome.

Since 2008, he has served as a specialist consultant in Dermatology at the Clinical Center for Preventive Medicine and Legal Medicine of the State Police-Ministry of Interior.

As a clinical researcher (RTD-A) at the Dermatology Clinics, Fondazione Policlinico Universitario A. Gemelli IRCCS/Università Cattolica dell Sacro Cuore (Rome), from 2018 to 2021, he obtained the national scientific qualification for Associate Professor (sector MED\35) in 2020.

His primary research interests include chronic pruritus, complex inflammatory skin diseases (hidradenitis suppurativa/acne inversa), and hair follicle disorders (androgenetic alopecia, scarring alopecias), with a particular focus on outcome research, procedural approaches, and regenerative medicine techniques.

He is currently an active member of the European Task Force on Pruritus of the EADV (European Academy of Dermato-Venereology) and an expert in the clinical management of chronic pruritus in Dermatology and Internal Medicine, contributing to the development of the European guidelines (European Dermatology Forum) for the diagnosis and treatment of chronic pruritus and prurigo. As a member of the European Hidradenitis Suppurativa Foundation (EHSF e.V.), he actively participates in international research projects studying this debilitating condition, collaborating with several academic research centers (International Hidradenitis Suppurativa/Acne Inversa Center, Bochum, Germany; Dermatology clinic, University of Milan).

His outpatient clinical activity encompasses the entire spectrum of clinical, procedural, and surgical Dermatology.

He is a member of numerous national and international scientific societies, including the Italian Society of Medical, Surgical, Aesthetic Dermatology and Sexually Transmitted Diseases (SIDeMaST) and the European Academy of Dermato-Venereology (EADV).

From October 2024 he is Associate Professor in the disciplinary sector MED/35 – Skin and Venereal Diseases at UniCamillus.
