Presentation
The 41st Cycle of the PhD Programme in Translational Biomedical Sciences is set within a rapidly evolving scientific environment, where interaction between diverse disciplines is a key driver of innovation and the translation of research outcomes into health solutions.
The programme is distinguished by its integrated approach to biomedical research, offering training that spans from fundamental knowledge to clinical applications, with a strong translational focus. The skills developed will enable applicants to critically analyse the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying human diseases and to translate research findings into innovative tools for diagnosis, prevention, and therapy, with direct impact on clinical practice.
The programme’s thematic areas cover the full spectrum of biomedical disciplines, including the study of diseases, biological processes, and the relationship between health and the environment, with particular emphasis on research and clinical applications.
Delivered in English, this programme is built on a strong multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary, and transdisciplinary foundation, thanks to the involvement of faculty members from a wide range of scientific fields, including biological sciences (Area 05) and medical sciences (Area 06).
The Coordinator of the Programme is Professor Gianfranco Peluso
