“Il Cuore del VI Municipio” kicks off: UniCamillus alongside over-65s for heart health
On Sunday, 19th October 2025, at 11.00 am., the project “Il Cuore del VI Municipio” will be inaugurated at the Centro Commerciale Roma Est (second floor), in the presence of Orazio Schillaci, Minister of Health.
Hosted by VI Municipio delle Torri, the initiative brings cardiovascular prevention directly into the daily lives of older adults in the area, offering free check-ups, educational sessions, and health promotion activities dedicated to people over 65.
The medical consultations will take place from 20th October to 9th November and from 24th November to 14th December 2025, Monday to Saturday (10am–2pm and 3pm–7pm) and Sunday (10am–2pm), at Centro Commerciale Roma Est – 2nd floor, Via Collatina Km 12.800.
The Saint Camillus International University of Health and Medical Sciences – UniCamillus, through its Third Mission and Social Impact, is among the main promoters of the initiative, together with the Prorectorate for Social Innovation Policies of the University of Rome Tor Vergata and the Italian Society of Geriatric Cardiology (SICGe).
The event is also organised with the participation of Fondazione LongeVitas ETS, Cuore Nostro, Salute e Società ODV, and the Cardiothoracic Department of the University of Florence, with the unrestricted contribution of Edwards.
For UniCamillus, this project represents a concrete expression of the University’s humanitarian and international mission, transforming scientific knowledge into local action to promote health, wellbeing, and prevention among older adults, thereby linking academic activity with tangible social impact.
Official greetings will be delivered by Nicola Franco, President of Municipality Roma VI Le Torri; Gianni Profita, Rector of UniCamillus; Nathan Levialdi Ghiron, Rector of the University of Rome Tor Vergata; Alessandro Boccanelli, Scientific Coordinator of the project, President of Salute e Società, and Professor of Moral Philosophy and Cardiovascular Diseases at UniCamillus; Rosaria Alvaro, Prorector for Social Innovation Policies at Tor Vergata; and Donatella Padua, Delegate for the Third Mission at UniCamillus.
This initiative strengthens the connection between universities, institutions, and the community, transforming knowledge into care and proximity into a tangible project of shared health, with UniCamillus playing a leading role in promoting the wellbeing of people over 65.
