Eleonora Russo
Dr. Eleonora Russo, PhD, is Assistant Professor (RTDa) of Hystology and embriology (1st year, 2nd semester, 10 CFU, SSD BIOS-13/A) in MSc in Medicine and Surgery (LM-41) of UniCamillus International Medical University in Rome (Cefalù Campus).
Dr. Russo was a Postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Human Anatomy and Histology, Department of Biomedicine, Neuroscience and Advanced Diagnostics (BiND) of the University of Palermo. She played 10 years of scientific research at BiND Department in the roles of Intern, PhD student, Academic Tutor of Pre-clinical Internship in Histology of the School of Medicine, research Fellow, Postdoctoral fellow and Adjunct Professor.
She has authored about 20 peer reviewed manuscripts and her research fields are stem cells and their application in regenerative medicine, neurosciences and, more recently, oncology.
After receiving a master’s degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Palermo, she obtained her International PhD in Biomedicine and Neuroscience from the University of Palermo with a period of 1 year at the University of South Florida (Tampa, Florida, USA). There, she was an Associate in Research Fellowship in Neurosurgery and Brain Repair at the Center of Excellence for Aging and Brain Repair (CEABR).
