Flavio Andrea Govoni
Graduated in Medicine and Surgery at Sapienza University of Rome, he specialized at the same university in Maxillofacial Surgery, and later specialized in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Rome Tor Vergata.
He obtained the European Board Certification in Oro-Maxillofacial Surgery (EBOMFS – European Board of Oro-Maxillo-Facial Surgeons).
He is a Hospital Medical Director at the Maxillofacial Surgery Unit (UOC) of San Camillo-Forlanini Hospital, with a role of highest professional responsibility in Malformative and Oncologic Surgery of the facial skeleton. He serves as Unit Coordinator for the Head and Neck Cancer Board and for medico-legal matters at San Camillo-Forlanini Hospital.
He is an Adjunct Professor in the degree programs of Orthopedic Techniques and Medical Radiology Imaging and Radiotherapy Techniques at Sapienza University of Rome. He is also an Adjunct Professor at Miguel Hernández University of Alicante.
He is a member of SICMF (Italian Society of Maxillofacial Surgery), EACMFS (European Association for Cranio-Maxillofacial Surgery), and AIOCC (Italian Association of Head and Neck Oncology).
His main fields of interest include minimally invasive maxillofacial surgery, orthognathic surgery, oncologic surgery, osteo-regenerative and CAD-CAM reconstructive surgery of the facial skeleton, temporomandibular joint surgery, and computer-guided endosseous and subperiosteal implant surgery. He has published numerous scientific papers and presented lectures at national and international courses and conferences on these topics.
