Graduated in Physiotherapy in 2006 at the University of Florence; in 2009, he completed the first-level master’s degree in “Rehabilitation of Musculoskeletal Disorders” at the University of Genoa; in 2012, he obtained a second-level degree in “Sciences of Rehabilitation Health Professions” at the University of Florence and in 2017 he received a PhD in “Advanced Technologies and Sciences in Rehabilitation Medicine and Sports” at the University of Rome Tor Vergata.

He is a lecturer at the University of Florence, Rome Tor Vergata, Perugia, and UniCamillus, teaching “Evidence-Based Physiotherapy.” He is the coordinator of the Master’s program in “Musculoskeletal and Rheumatological Physiotherapy” and “Neuromusculoskeletal Physiotherapy and Exercise Therapy” at the University of Rome Tor Vergata.

He has been conducting research activities since 2015. Since 2022, he has worked as a physiotherapist researcher at the IRCCS Institute of Neurological Sciences of Bologna in Bologna, Italy. His research interests concern the assessment of measurement instruments and their measurement properties.

He is President of the Italian Society of Physiotherapy (SIF), Associate Editor for Archives of Physiotherapy and Disability and Rehabilitation, member of the Editorial Board of Musculoskeletal Science and Practice and ad hoc reviewer for several international and indexed rehabilitation journals. He has published in international journals in the field of outcome measures and has participated as a invited speaker in various national and international physiotherapy conferences. He is an active member of the European Rasch & Research Teaching Group (ERRTG).
