Lorenzo Di Rienzo
- MSc Medicine and Surgery (LM-41) – Rome (taught in Italian)
- MSc Medicine and Surgery (LM-41) – Cefalù
- MSc Dentistry and Dental Prosthetics (LM-46)
He obtained both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Physics at Sapienza University of Rome, graduating with top honors in the Master’s program and specializing in Physics of Biological Systems. He continued his academic path by earning a Ph.D. in Life Sciences, focusing on Bioinformatics and Computational Biology, at the same university. During his doctoral studies, he developed advanced skills in computational analysis of molecular mechanisms, concentrating on the quantitative characterization of molecular recognition processes.
Subsequently, he held a Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship at the Department of Physics of Sapienza University of Rome and later served as a Post-Doctoral Researcher at the Center for Life Nano and Neuro Science at the Italian Institute of Technology. His scientific activity is primarily focused on the in-silico study of biomolecular interactions, with particular emphasis on the structural and dynamic modeling of proteins and protein complexes. He has contributed to numerous national and international collaborations, resulting in several publications in high-impact international journals, and has participated in international conferences and workshops, also serving in organizational and chair roles.
For several years, he carried out teaching and tutoring activities in the degree programs in MedTech, Biomedical Engineering, and Dentistry and Dental Prosthetics at Campus Bio-Medico University of Rome. In addition, he taught the course “Computational Methods in Protein Structural Biophysics” for the Ph.D. program in Mathematical and Physical Sciences at the University of Udine.
In 2024, he obtained the National Scientific Qualification as Associate Professor in the fields of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Since September 2025, he has been an Associate Professor of Biochemistry at UniCamillus – Saint Camillus International University of Health Sciences.
UniCamillus Associate Professor.
