Maddalena Piro

Specialist in Cardiovascular Diseases since 2005, she works in the Cardiology Department of Ospedale Santo Spirito as a medical director, where she is responsible for the outpatient clinic dedicated to valvular heart diseases, overseeing the entire process from clinical assessment and integrated diagnostics to surgical and percutaneous treatment indication.

She is an expert in advanced echocardiographic diagnostics, having collaborated with the Echocardiography Laboratory at the Department of Cardiac Surgery of Università Vita-Salute San Raffaele in 2011 and 2012, and with the Echocardiography Laboratory of Istituto Clinico Humanitas in 2023 and 2024.

She earned a PhD in Molecular and Cellular Cardiology in 2009.

In January 2020, she completed a Second-Level Master’s Degree in “Cardiac Intensive Care,” and in January 2026, a Second-Level Master’s Degree in “Advanced and Applied Echocardiography” at the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery “A. Gemelli,” Rome campus of Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore.

She is the author of numerous publications in national and international journals; she has contributed to several editorial projects and has served as a speaker, moderator, and lecturer at congresses, forums, and continuing medical education courses.
