Professor Manuel Maria Ianieri is currently Head of the Department for the Protection of Women’s Health and Newborn, Gynecology and Obstetrics Unit, at the Policlinico Abano Terme. Previously, he served as Head of the Gynecology and Senology Unit at the Mater Olbia Hospital since March 2023 until March 2025.

He graduated with honors in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Chieti-Pescara in 2008, followed by a specialization in Gynecology and Obstetrics in 2015, with a thesis on hysteroscopic criteria for the diagnosis of endometrial hyperplasia and endometrial adenocarcinomas.

He subsequently enriched his training with a fellowship at the International School of Surgical Anatomy of the Sacro Cuore-Don Calabria hospital in Negrar (Vr), during which he dedicated himself to minimally invasive pelvic surgery, later holding the role of medical doctor at the Department for the Protection of Women’s Health and Quality of Life – Unit of Gynecological Oncology and Minimally Invasive Pelvic Surgery of the same hospital where he carried out surgical and care activities related to the treatment of deep endometriosis and gynecological tumors.

He subsequently completed a PhD in Medical Biotechnology, focusing on the study of the sentinel lymph node technique in the detection of metastases in patients with endometrial cancer.

Since 2019, he has been working as a surgeon at the Policlinico IRCCS “A. Gemelli” in Rome, Department for the Protection of Women’s Health,  Children and Public Health, Division of Gynecological Oncology, directed by Professor Scambia, where he focused primarily on minimally invasive laparoscopic and robotic surgery for deep endometriosis and chronic pelvic pain. He has also conducted clinical research at the same institution, focusing primarily on the neurofunctional complications of surgery for deep multivisceral endometriosis and human anatomy.

Professor Ianieri is actively involved as a speaker or live surgery operator at national and international conferences of various scientific societies.
