Raffaele Conte
Professor Raffaele Conte is a researcher at the Institute of Research on Terrestrial Ecosystems (IRET) of the National Research Council (CNR), Italy.
He graduated in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology from the University of Naples “Federico II” (2010), obtained professional qualifications as Pharmacist and Chemist, a Master’s degree in the Synthesis of Innovative Biomolecules Applied to Epigenetic Techniques (2013), and a Ph.D. in Clinical and Experimental Medicine (2018).Since 2012, he has been collaborating with the CNR, developing expertise in applied biotechnology, toxicology, and experimental pharmacology.
He served as Director of the Industrial and Forensic Toxicology Laboratory at the AMES Diagnostic Center, specializing in the development and validation of LC-MS/MS and GC-MS analytical methods. Dr. Conte is a Fellow of the Institute of Science and Technology (IST) and a Registered Scientist with the Science Council (UK).
His research focuses on the development of delivery systems for natural compounds with nutraceutical and therapeutic applications, on phytochemical characterization, and on the investigation of the biological activities (antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antidiabetic, antitumor, and antibacterial) of plant extracts. He also promotes the valorization of agro-industrial by-products for the food industry and the development of functional foods within the framework of the circular economy and the One Health approach.
Author of over 100 scientific publications in peer-reviewed international journals, Dr. Conte actively contributes to innovation in the fields of natural products, sustainable biomaterials, and advanced drug delivery systems for health and well-being.
