Ph.D. in Experimental and Clinical Hepatogastroenterology, she has developed extensive experience in the field of preclinical and translational research, focusing on oncology and tumor immunology. She is currently a RTDa Researcher at UniCamillus in the scientific disciplinary sector of General Pathology, where she primarily studies the tumor microenvironment and the molecular and cellular mechanisms that drive oncological diseases.
Throughout her career, she has collaborated with prestigious national and international research centers, including the IRCCS Bambino Gesù Pediatric Hospital, where she investigated the immune mechanisms underlying various pediatric tumors and the tumor microenvironment, and the Biodonostia Health Research Institute, where she conducted translational and in vivo research on gastrointestinal tumors. At the Umberto I Polyclinic Hospital in Rome, she carried out research on hepatic and gastrointestinal tumors and various liver diseases, also participating in phase 1 clinical trials for cell transplantation in patients with advanced cirrhosis.
She was awarded an AIRC Fellowship for a project aimed at identifying new therapeutic targets, with a particular focus on the role of NK cells in the tumor microenvironment and the potential of immune checkpoint inhibitors. As the author of numerous scientific publications in peer-reviewed international journals, she has presented her research findings at various international congresses.
In recognition of her scientific contributions, she has received several awards, including the Minerva Prize for Scientific Research and the AISF Young Investigator Award.
