Valentina Chiariello

Valentina Chiariello is Assistant Professor (RTT) in Applied Economics at UniCamillus – Saint Camillus International University of Health Sciences, Rome. She previously held teaching and research positions at the University of Naples “Parthenope,” the University of Bari “Aldo Moro,” the University of Sannio, and the Italian National Institute of Statistics (ISTAT). She holds a Master’s Degree in Business Economics from the University of Naples “Federico II” and a Ph.D. in Economic Sciences from the University of Naples “Parthenope.”

Her research interests include development economics, gender empowerment, illegal economies, and international aid policies. Her scholarly work focuses particularly on the role of institutions, women’s representation, and corruption dynamics in shaping economic development processes. She has expertise in quantitative economic analysis using Stata, R, and Matlab.

She has published in leading international journals such as Regional Studies and Spatial Economic Analysis and serves as a referee for several peer-reviewed journals.
