Institutions and the University Sports Movement

During the event, special recognition was given to the universities and institutional representatives forming the University Sports Coordination of Rome, the organizational core of the championships, with the participation of the main Roman and international universities operating in the city.

A segment of the ceremony was also dedicated to match officials from the finals of the Rome University Championships, acknowledging referees involved in football and five-a-side football matches, as well as the refereeing coordinators for their organizational support.

Among the participating universities were UniCamillus – Saint Camillus International University of Health Sciences, host of the event, together with Sapienza University of Rome, Roma Tre University, LUISS Guido Carli, LUMSA (Libera Università Maria SS. UniCamillus in the Awards

During the Rome University Championships awards ceremony, UniCamillus featured prominently in several official competitions.

In the 20th Football Championship, the University achieved 3rd place in both the Europa League and the Champions League.

In the 10th Men’s Five-a-Side Football Championship, UniCamillus secured 2nd place in the Europa League.

In the 4th Men’s Basketball Championship, the University won 1st place in the Europa League, establishing itself at the top of its category.

In the 13th Mixed Volleyball Championship, the University was recognized through the individual award for Best Player Saul Giovanni Orsini and the presence of coach Emanuela Todini within the technical staff, in addition to achieving 2nd place in the Champions League, confirming UniCamillus’ strong involvement in the Roman university sports circuit.

A Shared Model of University Sport

The event once again confirmed the central role of sport as a tool for aggregation, inclusion, and personal development within the Roman university context, supported by sports and territorial institutions such as CONI Lazio and the City of Rome.

“University sport is not an accessory activity: it is a laboratory of life,” emphasized Gianni Profita, Rector of UniCamillus. “Here, students learn to compete without losing respect, to fall and rise again without losing direction, and to win without forgetting others. Seeing our students on the field, wearing the university jersey and full of energy, confirms that education does not come only from books, but also from the character built together. And this, for a university, is a true source of pride.”

The ceremony concluded with strong participation and with the shared hope among organizers to continue developing the Roman university sports movement, strengthening collaboration among universities, institutions, and federations.
