UniCamillus has once again distinguished itself in the ‘World’s Top 2% Scientists’ list, published by Elsevier and compiled annually by Stanford University. This international database collects citation metrics from leading scientists across the globe, assessing both their overall career impact and their influence in the most recent year. In simple terms, it highlights researchers whose work has had the greatest impact on global scientific progress, based on how frequently their publications are cited. Only the world’s most prominent scientists are included—those ranked among the top 100,000 or the top 2% within their specific field.
This year, UniCamillus proudly confirms its strong presence in both career-long ranking (which evaluates a scientist’s total impact based on all citations received to date) and the 2024 annual ranking. This achievement reflects the University’s ongoing commitment to academic and scientific excellence. Several UniCamillus scientists appear in both lists.
The rankings are based on Scopus data—one of the world’s largest research databases—and calculations were performed using all available author profiles as of 1st August 2025.
Among the UniCamillus scientists recognised for the overall impact of their careers, we are pleased to highlight:
- Adriano Piattelli, a recognised expert in Dentistry.
- Giuseppe Di Lorenzo and Gabriella D’Orazi, both recognised experts in Oncology and Carcinogenesis.
- Antonio Pietroiusti, an acknowledged author in the field of Environmental and Occupational Health.
- Maria Rosaria Gualano, an acknowledged expert in General Medicine and Public Health.
For 2024, UniCamillus confirms its position of leadership with a group of highly active lecturers and professors:
- Giuseppe Caruso, active in Neurology and Neurosurgery.

These results confirm the value of UniCamillus’s research on the international stage, demonstrating that its scientists contribute to global scientific progress and play an active role in innovation and in training future generations of health professionals.
