Tutoring Service

The purpose of the Tutoring Service is to encourage and support students in their learning process, to develop their ability to communicate and to interact frequently with lecturers in order to solve problems and explore topics in greater detail.

A Personal Tutor assists students in all aspects of their academic career, from monitoring their progress, to solving any difficulties that may arise, to advising on lectures and internships.

The Tutoring Service, carried out by our tenured researchers, has the following objectives:

• Provide specific support in disciplinary areas: provide students with targeted support for further study of disciplinary topics; clarify doubts on topics covered in lectures and promote understanding of complex concepts.
• Exam support: help students prepare effectively for their exams through tutorials, supplementary material and study strategies tailored to individual needs.
• Encourage critical thinking and autonomy in learning: encourage students to develop a critical and autonomous approach to the subject by promoting independent research and further study of topics.
• Promote interaction between theory and practice: support students in the practical application of theoretical knowledge, e.g. through laboratory activities, projects, case studies or other methods which combine theory and practice.
• Orientation to academic and professional careers: provide guidance on professional and academic career opportunities related to the discipline, helping students to understand how to apply the skills acquired in their future careers.
• Soft skills development: help students to improve soft skills related to the subject, such as research skills, time management and a scientific approach.
