The first year of the Degree Course in Dentistry and Dental Prosthetics was inaugurated at UniCamillus with the “Medical Chemistry” lesson.
The course, divided into six years, aims to provide theoretical knowledge and technical skills with which to then be able to practice the profession of dentist in all respects, according to the standards shared by the schools of dentistry in the European Union. In particular, all graduates will receive training and high skills for the various specializations or thematic areas of scientific research.
For the occasion, we interviewed Vittoria Giordano, Didactic Manager of the UniCamillus Degree Course in Dentistry and Dental Prosthetics, who highlights the importance of training figures in the dental field, especially in an increasingly competitive, innovative and international context such as the current one.
What added value can UniCamillus give compared to other universities?
Thanks to the activation of the Degree Course in Dentistry and Dental Prosthetics, the University’s main objective is to guarantee international training for learners from different countries. In fact, in the first two years, both the teaching and the exams of the course will take place in English.
Why did UniCamillus decide to expand its training offer with the Degree Course in Dentistry and Dental Prosthetics?
The University has decided to expand its educational offer in order to create a training initiative suitable for students from different cultural backgrounds. Currently, at a national and international level, there are numerous serious pathologies deriving from lack of oral health, which may cause serious damage to health and, in general, to the quality of life. Therefore the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of these diseases become strategic to improve the quality of life of large sections of the population. Therefore, in studying subjects related to Dentistry, it is crucial to move towards an international training that also takes into account the elements related to different cultural references, also considering them as a fundamental resource.
How will the course be structured in view of on-line teaching?
As foreseen by the recent ministerial provisions (DPCM 03/11/2020 and DPCM 24/10/2020) the teaching of the first year will regularly take place at the University premises. At the same time, the UniCamillus gives students the opportunity to follow the online lessons both live and as recordings by making all teaching materials available.
It is also already possible to register for the new admission tests for the Academic Year 2021/2022 by submitting an application by January 26th 2021 according to the indications of the calls available on the University website.
