Biography

Researcher at “Saint Camillus International University of Health Sciences”, Rome.
1987 – Degree in Biological Sciences at the University of Rome “Tor Vergata”. 
1992 – PhD in “Molecular and Cellular Biology”. 
1993 – Specialty Degree in “Biotechnology Applications”, at the University of Rome “Tor Vergata”.
1994 – 2009 Senior Research Biologist in the Antivirals Department, (Hepatis C Virus Project), of Merck Research Laboratories/ IRBM (Istituto Ricerche Biologia Molecolare), Pomezia, Rome.
Since 2012 lecturer and tutor in Applied Biology for Degree in Medicine and Surgery and three-year Degree Courses at the University of Rome “Tor Vergata”.
2011-2018 She participated to several national and international funded research projects as Research Fellow.
In the last 10 years her main research interest focused on cellular and molecular basis of synaptic dysfunction in neurodevelopmental disorders as Fragile X syndrome (FXS) and autism. 
She is co-author of 33 publications on peer-reviewed journals.
She is a member of AIBG (Associazione Italiana di Biologia e Genetica).
