Anna Maria Malagoni graduated in Medicine and Surgery and specialized in Sports Medicine. PhD in Biomedical, Endocrinological and Neurophysiological Sciences, specific curriculum in Exercise and Vascular Diseases.
She has a National Scientific Qualification to function as Associate Professor (06/N2-Physical Exercise and Sport Sciences) and has been teaching since 2002 in the context of both degree programs and postgraduate courses.
She is currently a holder of a research grant at the Vascular Diseases Center of the University Hospital of Ferrara and is also an Honorary Clinical Research Fellow, at Section of Vascular Surgery, Department of Surgery and Cancer, Imperial College London, London (UK).
From 2001, she has been involved in the planning, conducting and supervising of the anti-doping controls, during international sporting events, for an international Olympic Athletic Federation (International Biathlon Union) and has carried out related research activity.
Primary research areas are: functional evaluations and experimentation of original sports therapy programs for subjects at low physical performance; experimentation of lower limb compression methods in vascular diseases and combined application of physical exercise; chronic cerebrospinal venous insufficiency and cerebral perfusion; evaluation of tissue perfusion with Near-Infrared Spectroscopy method; tissue regeneration and exercise support.
She is the author of over 70 scientific publications in international journals. Scopus H-index: 25
