Mario Marasco is a research fellow at Sapienza-University of Rome, DICEA Department, where he is also involved in the LabSU-Laboratory of Urban Studies. As a member of the Italian Ethnological Mission in Tigray – Ethiopia (MEITE), he conducted extensive research in Mekelle. In Tigray he has worked on youth gangs, microcredit, development anthropology, social construction of gender and prison policies. His recent research interests include housing precarity, squatting and youth marginality in urban contexts. These latter themes are the focus of his book “Spacciati rabbiosi coatti. Periferia romana e costruzione del panico morale” (ombre corte 2021).
