Biography

Prof. Martini graduated in Medicine at the University of Rome Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in 1998; in 2002 he obtained the Specialization in Pathological Anatomy.

Since 2016 he is Medical Director at UOC Pathological Anatomy, A. Gemelli Polyclinic Foundation, IRCCS.

Since 2021 he is Adjunct Professor in Pathological Anatomy.

The research activity of prof. Martini focuses on blood and lymphatic pathology; pathology of the central and peripheral nervous system; thyroid and endocrinological pathology; urological and male genital pathology; molecular pathology with a diagnostic and prognostic-therapeutic orientation; gastrointestinal pathology.

Reviewer in the evaluation of scientific products (VQR evaluations) and research projects for MIUR (active member of the Reprise system); reviewer for: Journal of Clinical Oncology; Blood; New England Journal of Medicine; Journal of Experimental & Clinical Cancer Research; Mediterranean Journal of Hematology and Infectious Diseases; Haematological; Open Access Journal of Urology & Nephrology; Diseases-Journal; Neoplasm; International Journal of Cancer; Oncogene; Modern Pathology; American Journal of Surgical Pathology; Mediterranean Journal of Hematology and infectious Diseases; International Journal of Molecular Sciences.

Prof . Martini also works as an international reviewer for Cancer Research UK, for the Association for Cancer Research (Arc, France), and for the Science Foundation of the Czech Republic.
