Md PhD, he is an Infectious Disease Specialist and he is the head of the Infectous and Tropical Disease Unit of the Spallanzani Institute, based in Rome, Italy.
His clinical research is mainly devoted to the clinical management of patients affected by emerging and remerging infectious and tropical diseases, includinng also patients with high consenque infectious diseases: the lassa fever, the ebola viral disease, and other haemorrhagic fevers.
A particular focus has been given to the therapeutic drug monitoring of main infectious disease, particularly in patients with HIV infection/AIDS and malaria, and in selected categories of patients like pregnant women, elderly and pazients with liver or kidney insufficiency.
