Biography

Prof. Stefano Palermi is a medical doctor, specialized in Sports and Exercise Medicine. He earned his Medical Doctor Degree in Medicine and Surgery with honors in 2017 at the University G. D’Annunzio of Chieti and his Specialization in Sports and Exercise Medicine with honors in 2022 from the University of Naples Federico II.

He currently serves as an Associate Professor in Diseases of the Musculoskeletal System (MEDS-19/A) at UniCamillus – Saint Camillus International University of Health Sciences.

Prof. Palermi is a regional advisor for the Italian Sports Medicine Federation (FMSI) in Abruzzo, a nucleus member of the Primary Care and Risk Factor Management section of the European Association of Preventive Cardiology (EAPC), and a board member of the Sports Medicine Committee of SIAGASCOT.

He completed a second-level Master’s Degree in Sports Cardiology at the University of Padua, obtained the Certification of Echocardiography from SIECVI, and earned the National SIUMB Diploma in Musculoskeletal Ultrasound. Additionally, he completed a postgraduate course in Infiltration Techniques for Musculoskeletal Disorders in Athletes at the University of Naples Federico II.

He is currently the team physician for Reyer Basket Venezia (Serie A and EuroCup) and collaborates with Med-Ex, the official Medical Partner of Scuderia Ferrari.

His main research areas include cardiovascular assessment in athletes, musculoskeletal injury management in sports, and the application of artificial intelligence in sports medicine. He is the author of more than 100 scientific articles published in indexed journals and actively serves on the editorial boards or as a reviewer for numerous international scientific journals.
