Lorena Torroni

Biography

She graduated from the University of Rome Tor Vergata in Cellular and Molecular Biology and Biomedical Sciences in 2017.

In 2021, she obtained the title of Doctor Europaeus in Applied Life and Health Sciences, focusing on Medical Statistics and Epidemiology, at the University of Verona. She completed her specialisation school in Health Statistics and Biometrics at the same university in 2024.

In 2023, she was a visiting researcher at the Academic Medical Center (AMC) in Amsterdam.

Since 2024, she has been employed on a fixed-term contract as a Scientific Technician and Data Analyst at the University of Verona.

Her research focuses on statistical analysis applied to clinical, surgical and oncological contexts, particularly on gastric carcinoma. This research is carried out in collaboration with prestigious research centres and universities nationally and internationally. She is an active member of several associations, including the ‘SISMEC’ (Italian Society of Medical Statistics and Clinical Epidemiology), the ‘AIE’ (Italian Association of Epidemiology), the ‘GIRCG’ (Italian Group for Research on Gastric Cancer) and the ‘IGCA’ (International Gastric Cancer Association).

Author of numerous publications in international journals.

Reviewer for international journals in the biomedical field.
