Prof. Vuotto, as an applied cell biologist, obtained her PhD in Ricerca in Scienze Biomediche, Farmaci e Sanità Pubblica (Biomedical Sciences, Pharmaceuticals and Public Health) from Università Politecnica delle Marche in 2015.
She carried out research at the Istituto Superiore di Sanità and at the IRCCS Fondazione Santa Lucia (Rome, Italy). Her research activity is focused on studying the link between intestinal micro-biota and neuro-degenerative diseases, host-microbe interaction, antibiotic resistance, anti-biofilm and anti-fouling compounds.
She is the author of numerous publications in international journals and winner of grants, and has collaborated with numerous national and international research groups. She has also contributed to the organization of several international conferences as a member of the organizing and/or scientific committee.
Guest Editor of several Special Issues in international journals and Editorial Board Member (Section Board for ‘Medical Microbiology’) of the Microorganisms Journal (ISSN 2076-2607), is also an Ad hoc Reviewer for numerous magazines.
Since 2024, she has been Associate Professor of Clinical Microbiology (SSD: MEDS-03/A) at Saint Camillus International University of Health Sciences – UniCamillus.
