Luciana Cacciottola completed her residency in Gynecology and Obstetrics in 2018 at the Università degli Studi in Milan and her PhD in Health Science in 2022 at Gynecology Research Unit at UClouvain (Brussels), with a thesis entitled ‘Improving ovarian tissue transplantation using adipose tissue-derived stem cells’.

She is currently working as postdoctoral researcher the Institut de Radioprotection et sûreté nucléaire (IRSN) of the Commissariat per l’énergie atomique (CEA), in Fontenay-aux-Roses (Paris), and as assistant professor to teach Histology and Embryology at Saint Camillus International University of Health and Medical Sciences, in Rome and Venice.

Her main area of research is regenerative medicine in the field of gynecology and reproductive medicine, with a special focus on ovarian tissue cryopreservation, iatrogenic damage to the uterus and ovaries, DNA damage/repair mechanisms, hypoxia/ischemia tissue damage, and development of tissue repair strategies using regenerative medicine.
