Paola Rosati

General and Specialised Pediatrics - MEDS-20/A

Professor Paola Rosati, medical doctor, paediatrician and clinical researcher.

Professor Rosati has worked for over thirty years as a Paediatric Medical Director at the Bambino Gesù Paediatric Hospital in Rome. Her clinical practice included both inpatient care in the Gastroenterology and General Pediatrics wards, as well as outpatient pediatric services. She later dedicated herself to pediatric clinical research within the hospital’s Medical Directorate.

She has designed and led educational programs to train physicians, nurses, and psychologists in evidence-based medicine. As part of this effort, she developed a Continuing Medical Education (CME) workshop, accredited by the Italian Ministry of Health, at Bambino Gesù. This workshop, held annually since 2004, has benefitted from the contributions of national and international faculty (including experts from The Lancet, London, UK, and the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota, US). It has provided healthcare professionals with in-depth knowledge — both in Italian and English — of the best scientific databases and the most effective diagnostic, therapeutic and communication strategies available online. The goal has been to enable clinicians to address complex medical questions and enhance their human and empathic communication skills with patients and their families.

Currently, Professor Rosati is pursuing a PhD at King’s College London, UK, focusing on a project that aims to involve young patients with chronic conditions and their families in the healthcare decision-making process.

Her decades-long expertise in paediatric diagnostics, therapy and clinical research for the management of complex and long-term diseases has been further enriched over the years through participation in national and international research projects and protocols, as well as publications in high-impact scientific journals. Her work has contributed to the advancement and application of the most effective diagnostic, therapeutic and communication strategies for the care of young patients from infancy to adolescence.
